COVID-19 Details

February 2021

The Reptile Centre will be Closed until the end of March 2021. Due to the lack of tourism in Alice Springs during the summer, we will not be able to open to the Public and we will be using this time to care for our animals and to improve our facilities. For any enquiries please call 8952 8900 or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Keep an eye on our social media for all of our updates from the centre during this time, and we hope to see you all in the New Year at the new and improved Alice Springs Reptile Centre. Thank you for your understanding and stay safe.

The Alice Springs Reptile Centre will be CLOSED until the end of March 2021. We require that you plan your visit with us and book a spot when we reopen. This has been the case since July 2020; due to the COVID-19 restrictions we are only allowed a limited number of people in our building at any one time. To do this we require that you pre-book your visit as far in advance as possible to allow us to fill our sessions accordingly. You will receive a booking confirmation email on the day before your visit from our staff that will give you all the information that you need to know regarding our new procedures for physical distancing and sanitising whilst in the centre. Upon arrival you will need to check in using the Terriorty Check In App (details are below), to register your details for COVID-tracing purposes. We also ask that if you are not feeling well in anyway please postpone your visit to another time when you are feeling better, the centre is much more enjoyable when you feel healthy. We also would prefer not to put our staff or other visitors at risk from infection of any kind so please stay home if you are unwell, you will not be charged a cancellation fee and payment is made on arrival so you will not need a refund either.
If you would like to book a place for your group please call the centre on 8952 8900 and speak to our friendly staff, or email us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Check in

As of November 30th 2020, a new COVID-Safe Check in system will be in place in the Northern Territory. All businesses, organisations and venues will need to collect customer contact details as per instructed by the Cheif Health Officer. The Alice Springs Reptile Centre will be using the Territory Check In App to allow for a contactless method of collecting the required information. This app allows for customers to check in themselves, and their information is stored in a secure location for NT health to access if tracing needs to be done. Therefore if you are visiting the Alice Springs Reptile Centre you will be required to download the Territory Check In App on your smartphone before you arrive and register your details. Once you arrive, open the app and select 'Check in now', you can then hover your smartphone over the QR code that we have provided for you to check in. Any people in your group that do not have their own device will be able to be added to the device of another group member so that all patrons are registered and accounted for. Once you have finished then show the staff at reception the screen and you will be able to enter the facility. If you have any trouble with this please ask our friendly staff to assist you.
If you have any questions about the Territory Check In App visit the COVID-19 website or call 1800 490 484. Thank you for your cooperation.

Hygiene Procedures

The Alice Springs Reptile Centre has adopted strict hygiene and cleaning practices to aid in easing the spread and risk of COVID-19 infection. All patrons are required to adhere to these rules whilst in the building. All patrons will be asked to stay with their family group and seperate themselves from other groups by at least 1.5m at all times. Visitors will be in the centre for a maximum of 2 hours to allow staff members time to disinifect all surfaces using our antibacterial spray called F10 after they leave in preparation for the next session's participants. This is a veterinary grade disinfectant and will protect against the corona virus. This is applied to all surfaces, chairs, door handles, bathrooms etc. in between sessions. Staff have been briefed on physical distancing measures and the strict hygiene protocols. There are instructions for all patrons throughout the centre on our new restrictions as well as hand santising stations for the use of all members of the public throughout their visit.
We appreciate your compliance, if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact our friendly staff.
